Some games are great, others are less than great.
As the winter season continues on I have had the great fortune of being a part of some really exciting games. Great comebacks and exciting finishes have spoiled me the last few weeks. Last evening I was out making images at a local high school basketball game in Howard County.
Besides a good attempt to come back at the end the game seemed to be consistently one-sided. Most varsity sports will always lend themselves to some good action images but with these types of games good emotion becomes harder to find.
Even when close games do not occur, coaches, especially basketball coaches, do not seem to let up on their players. Having a comfortable lead, Reservoir's head coach was relentless when it came to unnecessary fouls.
I was able to make this frame on the whim while their coach was expressing his negative feelings about fouls (to word it nicely).
Nice light is hard to come by in dimly lit high school gyms so I was happy to be able make something this contrasty. Stopping down about a full stop turned the person standing behind him all the way to black and just allowed for the his face and hands to have some subtle highlights.
